Talented artist Bi Yuan Cheng began practicing art at the age of five under the guidance and encouragement of his father. Bi benefited greatly from tutelage at a young age by one of China's most prestigious art professors. It was this education, combined with the artist's own natural instincts that helped to develop Bi into the multi-dimensional artist he is today.
Bi Yuan Cheng emmigrated to Canada in 1990 and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. Here he uses his talent to capture the stunning coastlines that the Pacific Northwest is known for. His canvases seem to glow from within, and indeed it seems the early morning, and late evening light is presented as a character in and of itself within these artworks.
In celebration of Bi's immense skill and growing popularity, The Avenue Gallery is featuring the artist in a solo exhibition entitled "Luminous". From October 27 to November 7, 2013, the gallery will be filled with stunning works that expand on the natural themes below.
