Born on the East Coast in New York City and educated on the West Coast in California, Kim Matthews Wheaton lives and works today in the Columbia Basin region of East Washington. With her family, dogs and horses by her side, she paintings uncomplicated, quiet scenes of rolling hills and still waters.
In her latest series of work, we see a theme of reflection - both literal and emotional. Visitors to the gallery are taking a moment longer than expected to pause in front of these oil paintings - and finding some peace and respite from their busy day.
