The Avenue Gallery Artist Feature - Angela Morgan

Few artists at The Avenue Gallery receive as much verbal commentary as Angela Morgan. There is something joyful in her paintings, something heartening that encourages visitors to pipe up about how it makes them feel. In one word: Happy. They love the colours, the characters and the slight sense of mystery in Angela's work.

Her titles also garner a great deal of attention. Morgan saves special sentences as she comes across them, and assigns them to each finished piece. Favourites include: "How many kilometres of bliss," "Champagne probation," "I'll keep your secrets if you keep mine" and "A tangle of snippets."

Angela Morgan’s work celebrates humanity through the use of colour, pattern, and line. Her human figures express the poses of life; the jubilation of dance, the contemplation of parenthood, and the melancholy of summer’s end. Colours fuse and meld to achieve gesture, transforming abstract images into living moments.
